WhatsApp Messaging Limit Update: Increased from 1,000 to 2,000 Conversations

WhatsApp has recently updated how messaging limits scale, and many users noticed the change inside Meta Business Manager. Your messaging limit controls how many campaigns you can launch each day.
Previously, you only needed to start 1,000 high-quality business-initiated conversations within 7 days to qualify for a higher tier.
Now, WhatsApp has increased this requirement to 2,000.

Two Ways You Can Unlock the 2,000 Limit

WhatsApp now allows you to qualify through either verification or message performance. You only need to complete one of the two options.

1. Verify Your Business (Recommended)

This continues to be the fastest and most stable path.

• Submit business documents in Meta Business Manager
• Once verified, your messaging limit becomes eligible to upgrade to 2,000 conversations/day
• Updates typically appear within 24 hours

If your business is eligible for verification, this is the cleanest solution.

2. Start 2,000 High-Quality Conversations (New Requirement)

For businesses that cannot verify yet, WhatsApp now requires:

• 2,000 business-initiated conversations
• With 2,000 unique users
• Within a rolling 7-day period
• Using templates that have green (high) quality rating

Once you complete this, Meta reviews your quality score and upgrades your limit accordingly.

What Counts as “High-Quality” Messages?

WhatsApp measures quality based on user reactions. Your messages are considered high-quality when:

• The template shows a green quality rating
• Users do NOT block or report your number
• The content is clear, respectful, and not spammy
• Engagement is normal (users read or reply)

Low-quality or spam-style templates can delay or prevent scaling.
